David Spurdens has filmed and photographed some of the world's most prestigious sporting events. He now specialises in sports, action and associated lifestyle content across all forms of video, film and photographic production — including brand films, TVCs and marketing campaigns.
David's previous roles include Chief Sports Photographer for a British national newspaper, where he covered Wimbledon, the FIFA World Cup, The Open Championship, The Ashes, downhill skiing, boxing world title fights, the Grand National, The Derby, FA Cup Finals and many other major sporting events.
David brings this extensive global experience to every project. He offers a full-service production facility with all equipment owned in-house — a full kit list is available on request.
David's work has taken him to extraordinary locations and put him in situations few photographers or filmmakers ever experience: expeditions to the North Pole, Formula One, Class 1 offshore powerboat racing shot from helicopters, filming from inside a four-man bobsleigh hurtling down the Olympic bob run in St Moritz, Switzerland, hot air ballooning over the Alps, filming Pipeline on Oahu, the legendary Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational and the Quicksilver Masters at Makaha in Hawaii, and back home to Tasmania for the Red Bull Hardline mountain bike downhill race. All of this experience brings a distinctive edge to his projects.
David is now based in Ocean Grove, Australia, where he works across sport, adventure and lifestyle filmmaking and photography. He works with a range of sports models across the mainstream and extreme sporting worlds, as featured on this website.
With decades of experience working in challenging environments alongside elite extreme and mainstream athletes, David brings a rare combination of technical skill, field experience and instinct — capturing the peak split-second moment or the essence of sports lifestyle.

David brings a diverse skillset in sports, action, and lifestyle filmmaking and photography. Years working at the highest level of sports image production have sharpened his ability to work decisively under pressure, solve problems in real time, and make clear decisions in critical moments — keeping projects on track and delivered.
His expertise extends to aerial image production, with over 400 hours of air-to-air and air-to-ground filming from helicopters and aircraft across demanding environments including yacht racing and offshore powerboat racing, maintained with a 100% safety record.
